Stephanie Grilo (she/her/hers) has been an active member of the Albuquerque Theatre Community since 2009. She received her BFA in Acting and her Masters in Dramatic Writing from the University of New Mexico. She is currently a part-time theatre instructor at both Central New Mexico College and the University of New Mexico. She served as the Artistic Director for Actor's Studio 66 from 2023-2024.
Stephanie is the Creator and Co-Direction of Coming in Hot! a televised cold reading series in partnership with The NM Film Foundation and Albuquerque Public Access Channel 26 and 96. Stephanie’s own plays have been produced both in Albuquerque and Chicago.
Stephanie has been seen on Albuquerque's stages for over a decade and most notable performance credits include:
Lil' Bit in the Vortex's production of How I Learned to Drive (2024), Esther Rosenberg in Hazardous Materials (2023), Layna in Brainpeople (2023), Hattie in The Women of Lockerbie (2022), Susan in Susan and God at the Vortex, Princess of France in Love's Labour's Lost at the NM Shakespeare Festival, Perdita in A Winter’s Tale, Chick in Crimes of the Heart, and Peggy Arnold in Traitors with Tricklock Theatre Company.
Recent directing credits include The 2024 Melodrama at the Santa Fe Playhouse, Co-Direction consulting of UNM's Spring 2024 production of Moliere's Imaginary Invalid, and Gruesome Playground Injuries at Actors Studio 66.
She has also been involved in several Indie Film Projects in Albuquerque throughout the past decade as well as a participant in the National 48 Hour Film Project.
Stephanie is a proud member of the Dramatist Guild of America, the NM Shakespeare Festival, an Orchard Project Core Company Alumni, Blackout Theatre Company Alumni, and a member of the Chicago chapter of Naked Angels.
