Teaching Statement
As a teaching artist, I aim to inspire my students to greatness through providing scaffolded training and unique learning experiences. It has been my great honor to teach at both the secondary level and higher education levels over the course of 10 years. Through equitable, empathetic and wholistic approaches to learning, as well as depth of craft and a global perspective on theater practices, my hope is to continue the work alongside my students and colleauges within our institutions to decolonize the classroom.
Learning should never be painful, but understanding that historical education trauma is real only better serves our students in dismantling white supremacy in our classrooms.
I am passionate about teaching the art and practice of theatre and am honored to share in this passion with emerging theatre makers.
